Patsch is a small place just at the foot of the Pätscherkofel, with a view of the Stubai Glaciers, near Igls. The resort is really suitable for winter vacations, since it has a lot of skiing facilities and it also offers cross-country runs, ice-skating and curling. Despite that, you can always visit it during the summer when you can hike, swim, play golf or tennis. Throughout the hot season you can also go skiing on the Stubai Glacier.
Another very interesting way of spending your time there is getting the cable car Patscherkofelbahn, which will take you to the top of the Patscherkofel – 1961m above sea level. The 4km-long trip takes only 18min.
Pätsch is not reachable by train because it doesn’t have a train station, but there are regular buses on every hour from Innsbruck. By car from Innsbruck you can pass through Vill and Igls or drive along the Brennerbahn.
