About five kilometers northwest of Maurach-Eben, on the western side of the Achensee Lake, is situated the well-known resort of Pertisau. Its location at 940 meters elevation, by a mountain, Ski-In/Ski-Out and Lakeside, attracts many visitors, searching for relaxing atmosphere during any season.

Pertisau has been a famous spot for hunting and fishing for centuries, particularly for nobles, kings and dukes. The resort provides its visitors not only numerous sport activities and leisure-time programmes but also unspoiled lovely nature, fresh mountain air and crystal lakes and streams.
Pertisau is the gateway to the Karwendel Mountains – Europe’s largest nature preserve and offers sports, entertainment and recreation in an untouched nature and mild Alpine climate. The Achensee Lake, with its 719 ha, is the largest lake in Tyrol, and in addition to the great variety of water sports and activities that offers, it has so crystal-clear water that is even suitable for drinking. Pertisau is also the center for the Achensee Lake shipping businesses, each morning the ships start their journey along the Lake in Pertisau.

Pertisau Skiing Holidays

Of course the region offers great skiing, carving and snowboarding, top slopes and modern ski lifts. The ski area vary from 900 meters to 2000 m. elevation and boasts great trails and well groomed slopes for all abilities and ages. Cross-country skiing is very popular activity here. Snowshoeing and torchlight hikes off the beaten path always make for a memorable nature experience and many couples would enjoy a romantic night hike along the shores of Achensee Lake.

The nearest Airports are these in Innsbruck – 50 kilometers and Munich Airport – 140 km.
Train to Jenbach - bus or taxi to Pertisau (about ten kilometers.)
Train to Tegernsee - taxi or bus via Kreuth, Achenkirch and Maurach to Pertisau
Bus journey from Jenbach to Achenkirch, Maurach, Pertisau and Steinberg is usually free for visitors who have booked their holidays in one of the towns. Bus travel between the towns is also free during the time of your stay - ask your host/hotel for free bus tickets.
