ISCHGL - HOTELS & TOURIST INFORMATION
|

Ischgl is a big ski resort in the Alps, located at 1 400m elevation, near Switzerland. Only the town is a small place, built on a hillock, full of tunnels and with no high buildings. The ski area is hidden and cannot be seen from the village and there are 11 other small villages around.
Ischgl Skiing Holidays
For the skiers, Ischgl has 42 lifts, 200km trails, cross-border skiing (into Switzerland where you can visit the duty free Samnaun) and off-trail areas. For the leisure time the village offers charmig cuisine, affordable accommodation and a good nightlife. There is snow on the ski trails during most of the year because 90% of them are above 1900m.
Very close to Ischgl is situated Galtür – a small village with 730 inhabitants, many restaurants and a baroque church. Galtür has bus connectin with Ischgl and though it has lesser ski area, there is snow for a long period of time (it is the highest village in the Silvretta-Paznaun region). In Galtür there are great cross-country and ski-touring opportunities, a ski school and as a whole the village is suitable for a nice family vacation.
